Spring Region Meeting – May 20th

I hope this message finds you well as we all move into our final weeks of the school year. There has been some conflicting information posted in places about this years region meeting. The correct date is May 20th at Del Mar College. We will begin the ATSSB meeting at 8am in the New Band Hall. Please make plans to attend as we will have a number of items to be voted on during the meeting.

Additionally this year it would be wise for us to make plans to attend the TMEA meeting following ours. From talking with Dr. Kent the proposal that we sent forward to the UIL Committee in regards to having 1C, 2C, 3C, 1A, 2A, 3A, 4A, 5A, and 6A members represented on the PML and the Sight-Reading committee made it through the initial step at the state level. It has now been sent to all of the regions around the state for a vote. It is my hope that TMEA Region 14 will get behind this proposal and send it back to the UIL Committee with the recommendation to proceed. The more members we can have present the more likely it is that I believe the motion will carry. Please consider attending that meeting if you can!
